Depois de quatro anos morando em Osaka, no Japão, meu amigo Aidan Doyle arruma as malas pra voltar à sua Austrália. O único plano dele no momento é encarar um seminário intensivo de seis semanas em Brisbane sobre redação de contos de ficção científica. Da vivência japonesa, em que trabalhou como professor de inglês e jornalista, ficam saudades, histórias curiosas - algumas eu compartilhei aqui - e muitas fotos.
Entre suas últimas experiências na terra do sol nascente, ele participou de um curso sobre técnicas ninja e do Tokyo Game Show, a maior exposição mundial da games:
Last month I went to Tokyo for a few days. The Tokyo Game Show is the world's biggest computer games expo and software companies showcase their new game titles. It's held once a year and 2 days are open only to industry professionals and the media and 2 days are open to the general public. I got myself a press pass (I've been writing for a magazine in Japan) and went for one of the media-only days and one of the public days. There were hundreds of new games on display and many of the companies had very cute girls in skimpy clothing promoting the games. Getting complimented on your game-playing skills by beautiful girls is a gruelling experience. On the public days, lots of people came dressed up as their favorite anime or game characters. It was an interesting experience.
